FRIENDS
Building a Better Foggy Bottom/West End
through
Communication, Cooperation, and
Collaboration
Join
your neighbors in enhancing our community.
FRIENDS facilitates discussion and mutual
understanding through open public meetings between Foggy Bottom/West End
residents and GW.
These
meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month. They are open to
everyone and alternate between a business meeting one month and a social
event the next. These gatherings provide an opportunity for residents to
interact with GW officials.
FRIENDS has been the driving force behind GW's
recently updated community concern policy and the formation of a
Neighborhood Action Team. GW has also created a centralized phone number
for residents to report GW-related concerns, as well as a monthly
community calendar of events open to Foggy Bottom/West End neighbors (click here to see this month's calendar).
This
past fall, the group held the 8th Annual Foggy Bottom/West End Neighborhood Block Party.
More than 3,000 people came together to celebrate the community. Nearly 120
local businesses, restaurants, groups and institutions had booths at the
event.
