Site 102B on Square 102/ The George Washington University Museum & The Textile Museum

Centrally located on the Foggy Bottom Campus, The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum will foster the study and appreciation of art, history, and culture, both within the university and throughout the global community. Through its affiliations and its own collections, including the 18,000 works of the Textile Museum and the unparalleled Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection, the new museum will link audiences, scholars, and collections with other museums, cultural and academic organizations.

GW Museum - 21st Street Perspective, North

Scheduled to open in 2014, The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum will be located at 21st Street between G and H Streets on the southwest corner of University Yard. Identified as development site 102B under the 2007 Foggy Bottom Campus Plan, this site is designated for a maximum 90% lot coverage, with a maximum height of 65’ (the adjacent Corcoran Hall is 65’ while Woodhull House is 36’ high). Construction began in fall 2013 with substantial completion anticipated in late 2013 and the museum opening in 2014.
